1516 Condemns Pawan Kalyan Statement on Hindi as National Language

1516 – తెలుగు విద్యార్థుల సంక్షేమ సంస్థ, హైదరాబాద్

"రాజ్ భాష(జాతీయ భాష)"గా హిందీని ప్రోత్సహిస్తూ ఏపీ ఉప ముఖ్యమంత్రి పవన్ కళ్యాణ్ చేసిన ప్రకటనను 1516 సంస్థ తీవ్రంగా ఖండిస్తోంది.

1516 సంస్థ : తెలుగు విద్యార్థుల విద్య, వృత్తిపరమైన అభివృద్ధి కోసం ఎప్పటికప్పుడు వివిధ రకాల కార్యక్రమాలను నిర్వహిస్తూ, మాతృ భాష అభివృద్ధి కోసం పాటుపడుతుంది. జూలై 11, 2025న ఏపీ ఉప ముఖ్యమంత్రి పవన్ కళ్యాణ్ చేసిన "హిందీ జాతీయ భాష" అన్న వ్యాఖ్యలను 1516 సంస్థ తీవ్రంగా ఖండిస్తోంది.

 1516 స్పష్టమైన వైఖరి

భావం తెలుగులో, భవిష్యత్తు ఆంగ్లంలో:  ఏ తెలుగు విద్యార్థికైనా తెలుగు భాష సాంస్కృతిక గుర్తింపునిస్తే, ఆంగ్ల భాష ప్రపంచ వ్యాప్తంగా ఉండే వివిధ రకాల అవకాశాలను అందుకునే నిచ్చెన మాదిరిగా ఉపయోగపడుతుంది. ఈ రెండు భాషలో సరైన పట్టు సాధించే విద్యార్థులకు విద్యా, ఉపాధి అవకాశాలు మెరుగ్గా ఉంటున్నాయి. తెలుగు విద్యార్థులు వివిధ  రకాల పనుల నిమిత్తం తెలుగు రాష్ట్రాలను దాటి ఇతర రాష్ట్రాలకు  వెళ్లాల్సి వచ్చినప్పుడు    ఆ ప్రాంత ప్రజలతో లేదా సంస్థలతో  మాట్లాడాల్సిన సందర్భంలో వారు చెప్పే విషయాలను అర్థం చేసుకొని తిరిగి జవాబు ఇచ్చే స్థాయి వరకు హిందీ నేర్చుకోవచ్చు, కానీ ఇది బలవంతంగా కాదు. ఒక వ్యక్తి మీద, ఒక ప్రాంతం మీద బలవంతంగా, అధికారాన్ని ఉపయోగించి హిందీ భాషని రుద్దె (అంటగట్టే)ప్రయత్నాలు చెయ్యడం  ఆ మనిషికున్న ప్రాథమిక హక్కులను కాలరాస్తున్నట్టే లెక్క.

స్వప్నాలను చేరాలంటే పుస్తకాలను చదవాలి — కానీ ప్రపంచాన్ని జయించాలంటే ఆంగ్లాన్ని ముద్దాడాలి : ప్రస్తుత ప్రపంచంలో గ్లోబలైజేషన్ అయ్యాక   విద్యా, ఉపాధి మరియు భావవ్యక్తీకరణ పరంగా చూస్తే  తెలుగు విద్యార్థులు ఎదుర్కొంటున్న ప్రధాన సమస్య  ఆంగ్లంలో నైపుణ్యం లేకపోవడం మరియు ఆంగ్ల భాషలో ఆత్మ విశ్వాసంతో  మాట్లాడలేకపోవడమే కానీ  హిందీ భాష కాదు. ఆంగ్లంలో బలమైన పట్టు ఉంటేనే విద్యార్థులు ఆత్మ విశ్వాసంతో ప్రపంచ వేదికలపై పోటీ పడగలుగుతారు. ప్రస్తుత పోటీ ప్రపంచంలో ఆంగ్లం వదిలి హిందీ నేర్చుకోవడం అనేది  మనకుండే అవకాశాలను మన చేజేతులార  నాశనం చేసుకోవడం వంటి తెలివితక్కువ నిర్ణయమే అవుతుంది గానీ, మెచ్చుకునే విషయంగా మాత్రం పరిగణించబడదు.

హిందీ ప్రాధాన్యత తెలుగును కించపరుస్తోంది : రోజువారీ జీవితంలో హిందీని ప్రోత్సహించడం తెలుగుకు ప్రాధాన్యత తగ్గడానికి కారణమవుతోంది. ఈ పరిస్థితి భారతదేశంలోనె అత్యంత సురక్షితమైన స్థలంగా పిలవబడే  హైదరాబాద్ నగరంలో స్పష్టంగా కనిపిస్తోంది. వివిధ రకాల రాష్ట్రల నుండి  ఉపాధి నిమిత్తం  ఎంతోమంది  ఇక్కడికి వస్తున్నారు కానీ వారు ఇక్కడి  తెలుగు నేర్చుకోవాల్సిన అవసరం లేదని భావిస్తున్నారు. ఎన్నో ఏళ్లుగా హైదరాబాద్‌లో ఉన్న కొందరు తెలుగును తక్కువ భాషగా భావిస్తూ, తెలుగు మాట్లాడేవారిని చిన్న చూపు చూస్తున్నారు. తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వం పాఠశాల స్థాయిలో తెలుగు ఖచ్చితంగా నేర్చుకునేలా చట్టం చెసింది కానీ ఆంధ్రపదేశ్ లో మాత్రం పరిస్థితి ఇందుకు పూర్తీ బిన్నంగా ఉంది. తెలుగు వారి ఆత్మ గౌరవ సిద్దాంతాలమీద ఏర్పడిన ప్రభుత్వం మాత్రం ఇందుకు విరుద్దంగా ప్రవర్తిస్తుంది.

పవన్ కళ్యాణ్ ప్రకటన ఈ పరిస్థితిని మరింత తీవ్రం చేస్తోంది : తెలుగు నేర్చుకోవాలని ఆదేశించాల్సిన చోట, తెలుగు భాష అభివృద్ధి కోసం పాటు పడాల్సిన  ఏపీ ఉప ముఖ్యమంత్రి  చేసిన వ్యాఖ్యలు ఈ సమస్యను తీవ్రతరం చేస్తూ భాషాపరమైన వివక్షను ప్రోత్సహిస్తున్నాయి. 10 కోట్ల తెలుగు ప్రజల మాతృభాషకు గౌరవం తగ్గిస్తూ, హిందీని ఉన్నతంగా చూపించే ప్రమాదకర పరిస్థితికి దారి తీస్తున్నాయి. తెలుగు రాష్ట్రాలపై హిందీని బలవంతంగా రుద్దాలనే ప్రయత్నాలు భారత రాజ్యాంగపు మూలస్ఫూర్తి అయిన భిన్నత్వం, భాషా స్వాతంత్యం, సాంస్కృతిక రక్షణకు విరుద్ధం. రాజ్యాంగంలోని ఆర్టికల్ 345 రాష్ట్రాలకు తమ ప్రాంతీయ భాషలను అధికారికంగా అమలు చేసే హక్కును ఇస్తుంది. 8వ షెడ్యూల్ తెలుగు వంటి భాషలను ప్రత్యేకంగా గుర్తించి అభివృద్ధి చేయాలని కేంద్రానికి బాధ్యతని నిర్ధారిస్తుంది. ఆర్టికల్ 350A ప్రకారం, ప్రజలకు మాతృభాషలోనే విద్య పొందే హక్కుకు రాజ్యాంగపు హామీ ఇచ్చింది. ఈ పరిస్థితుల్లో హిందీని బలవంతంగా రుద్దడం అంటే ప్రాంతీయ భాషల గౌరవాన్ని, స్థానిక ప్రజల హక్కులను తుంచేయడం కిందికే లెక్క . అది రాజ్యాంగం అందించే భాషా సమానత్వం, సాంస్కృతిక స్వతంత్రత, సామాఖ్య ఆత్మను పూర్తి స్థాయిలో దెబ్బతీస్తుంది.

తెలుగు ప్రజల మనుగడ, అభివృద్ధి కోసం తెలుగు, ఆంగ్లం మాత్రమే నేర్చుకోవాల్సిన భాషలు. హిందీని బలవంతంగా రుద్దడాన్ని మా సంస్థ తరపున తీవ్రంగా వ్యతిరేకిస్తున్నాం. తెలుగు విద్యార్థుల నిజమైన విద్యా అవసరాలు, సాంస్కృతిక గర్వం కోసం 1516 సంస్థ ఎల్లప్పుడూ కృషి చేస్తుంది.

1516 Strongly Condemns AP Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan’s Statement on Hindi as “Raj Bhasha"

1516, an organisation committed to the academic and professional welfare of Telugu students in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, strongly condemns the statement made by AP Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on 11th July 2025 advocating Hindi as a National Language.

Our Firm Stand:

1. Telugu and English are Adequate and Essential: For any Telugu student, proficiency in Telugu preserves their cultural identity, and fluency in English opens doors to global opportunities. Learning these two languages alone demands considerable effort and time. Should any student venture beyond Telugu states into Hindi-speaking areas, they can naturally acquire Hindi as necessary not by force.
2. Immediate Challenge is English Proficiency: The ground-level reality clearly shows that English proficiency—not Hindi—is the significant challenge faced by Telugu students. A strong command of English profoundly boosts confidence, opens up professional avenues, and enables global competitiveness. Investing time in Hindi instead of English is imprudent.
3. Allowing Hindi Deprioritises Telugu: Encouraging the daily use of Hindi in our homes and social interactions inherently deprioritises Telugu.  This detrimental effect is already clearly visible in cities like Hyderabad, where Telugu is increasingly perceived as a dying language. Newcomers to Hyderabad no longer feel the necessity to learn Telugu, assuming Hindi alone is sufficient. Worse, some long-standing residents increasingly regard Telugu as an inferior language compared to Hindi, leading them to disregard and even demean Telugu speakers.
4. Pawan Kalyan's Statement Exacerbates the Issue: Instead of mandating that everyone learns Telugu, the remarks by the Deputy Chief Minister further aggravate these disturbing trends, legitimising linguistic prejudice and undermining the respect owed to Telugu as the native language of 10 crore people. This perpetuates a worrying social attitude that marginalises and disrespects Telugu-speaking communities and allows Hindi superiority.

In the present global era, Telugu and English will remain the only languages that Telugu students ought to learn for their survival and sustenance and we condemn Hindi imposition of any kind on Telugus.

1516 remains steadfast in advocating the true educational needs and cultural pride of Telugu students.
